Biomaterials in the Skeleton

In collaboration with the Hajim School of Engineering & Applied Sciences we are developing a biocompatible and osteoinductive material that may be used as an implant material in bone. The material under study is porous silicon. It has many advantageous features for use in skeletal repair, spine fusion surgeries, drug and gene delivery modalities and as a structural graft.
