ARCCA – A Career in Forensic Biomechanics
David Gushue is a 2005 graduate of our BME doctoral program. After graduation, David joined ARCCA, Inc. (near Philadelphia, PA) where he is currently a Vice President and Director of the Biomedical Engineering group. Currently David uses his biomedical engineering skills in the research and analysis of the relationships between crash injuries and crash forces, occupant kinematics and human tolerance, as well as forensic investigations. In addition to extensive R&D projects for the U.S. Military related to injuries associated with Under-Body Blast events, he is also leading a Safety Initiative to evaluate biomechanics and improve player safety for the National Hockey League. David will describe his career path and the field of forensic biomechanics as well as his involvement with various R&D projects and forensic investigations.
