Summer Interns

Interns with Idea Boxx execs

Edward Ruppel

Program: Biomedical Engineering
Graduating Class: 2017
Company or Institution: Idea Boxx

These past two-summers, and throughout the school years, I have been fortunate enough to work for an innovative start-up company in Victor, New York called Idea Boxx. The Idea Boxx was created in order to conceptualize, design and manufacture products that would improve and positively impact different industries. It’s comprised of designers and engineers combining experience from the medical field, food service industry, and corporate R&D. Edward also worked with two split-off companies called ProNatural Brands LLC (chemical lines), and United Services Sought LLC (military products).

Throughout my time there, I have been able to work on a multitude of projects that have had significant ramifications within the military, medical, and commercial food-service industries. I have found that the industry knowledge of all aspects of product development have been excellent guides in the understanding of the material taught in class, providing physical examples for theoretical topics. I have had a great time working and interacting with industry professionals and I now see this learning experience as a key supplement to my education.

Note: Edward and fellow intern Jacob Parisi were both acknowledged as co-inventors on the Hydra Rinse™ patent application last summer.
